Welcome to Phase 4 (Years 5 and 6)
The Phase 4 teachers are:
Class 11 - Mrs Stewart / Miss Nusselder
Class 12 - Miss Buchanan
Class 13 - Miss Dickens (Phase Leader)
Class 14 - Mrs Osprey
Class 15 - Mr Forshaw
Start and End of the School Day
The school day starts at 8:40. At this time the Phase 4 class teachers will open the doors and children can begin to make their way in to class.
At the end of the school day the children in Phase 4 leave the building by their nearest exit. Children in Phase 4 are permitted to walk home by themselves and class teachers are not required to release the children to an adult.
Target Grouping
In Phase 4 we operate target groups for maths. All other lessons are carried out in normal class groups.
The work your child will be learning in the target and class groups will be carefully matched to their abilities, with the emphasis always being on fostering positive enthusiasm and striving to succeed.
It may be that during this time your child moves maths groups. In the event of this happening you will be informed.
P.E
The children in Phase 4 will need to have their P.E kit for their lesson with the sports development team on the following days:
Class 11 - Wednesdays
Class 12 - Mondays
Class 13 - Mondays
Class 14 – Mondays
Class 15 – Mondays
Reading
Each child in Phase 4 has been provided with one or two books from school and a reading diary. All these items need to be in school every day, as the children will be involved in daily reading activities. The reading diaries are checked on a regular basis.
