How are we working with parents and the community?
The school’s links with the wider community, including extended school activities.
· Parents receive information about their child's progress on at least a termly basis and are welcome to find out on a daily basis.
· Stakeholder surveys are sent out every term to gather parent's views. Findings from these are used to move the school forward and act upon anything needing development.
· As a result of parents requesting more information on display, a parent notice board is now is full operation, giving details of not only what is happening in school but the wider community.
· A member of staff is part of the Aspley Community Partnership & relays what is happening in the wider community.
· The Head teacher makes she is available every morning on the school drive for parents.
· We have links with Sure Start, Health services, SENCO, Portage, EIP and Malt. There are good foundations with a range of services, which are have grown since the launch of the Every Child Matters agenda & launch of Children’s Services within the Nottingham City.
· Place2Be is run successfully in the school & has been since 2006, where children, parents or teachers can avail themselves of therapeutic support. This contributes to the good overall caring ethos of the school.
· School has a breakfast club

There are fun things to do and clubs to join after school and at lunchtimes that make children want to come to this school.

School Council
As we are a very large school, we have four ‘Phase Councils’ in addition to a ‘Whole School Council,’ to ensure that all age groups are listened two.
Outcomes from their last two meetings have impacted with the children’s ideas being used for; Playground markings, Litter Bin designs and development of the internal courtyard area in the centre of the school.
