School Profile

What have been our successes?

The largest success for our whole school community has to be the effective and smooth amalgamation of two schools into a new large primary school and the move into a brand new state of the art school. The support and willingness of all the different stakeholders has been tremendous.

The staff have a whole school vision to raise expectations and standards: Achieve, Succeed, Be Proud Together.

The children have been and continue to be fantastic. The parents have supported the school well and continued to send their children smartly dressed in their uniforms. The school staff are hardworking, committed staff who are willing to develop effective practice towards achieving the shared whole school vision. Careful and rigorous appointments to the school have resulted in a high calibre of new staff being employed. The governing body has continued to grow in size and takes its role very seriously in wanting the best for the school.

The leadership and line management structure for the school has had a positive impact on the smooth day to day running of the establishment. This promotes consistency of provision in addition.

Behaviour at school is good, the very vast majority of the children are respectful to each other and adults.

What are we trying to improve?

  • Ensure that the School Improvement Plan is a living document used by all staff, which reflects the needs of the pupils & school.

  • Ensure that all learners achieve as well as they can through having their work pitched at the correct level to meet their needs.

  • Embed a purposeful curriculum for the children that they can relate to that will not only impact on standards but reflect the very best of practice from excellence & enjoyment.

  • Ensure that the curriculum provides opportunities for deepening children’s thinking, key skills and independence.

  • School needs to continue to develop & build on points raised by its different stakeholders and the Every Child Matters agenda.

  • Ensure the effective use and impact of data from an individual pupil or cohort level to whole school findings.

  • Continue to develop a learning culture throughout the whole school community.

  • Strengthen the partnership between parents and the school.
