Summer Term Phase 2

Below is a table showing what the children in Phase 2 will be learning during the 2nd half of Summer term.
 

Year 1 and Year 2 Theme - The World Cup

Reading and Writing Recounts of our Twycross Zoo visit, Non Fiction Texts about a specific country, Instructional texts relating to different recipes .
Mathematics
Number and Calculation skills, shape, measures and data handling.
Science
Animals around the world. Forces relating to different ways to move a ball.
Design & Technology
Animal sculptures, puppet footballers.
I.C.T.
Word Processing, Cutting and pasting, saving documents and using Paint and other Art programmes.
Geography
Capital cities of Britain and Europe. Looking at different aspects of specific countries: Class 1 France, Class 2 Spain, Class 3 South Africa, Class 4 Brazil, Class 5 Italy.
Religious Education
Looking at different religions around the world.
Art & Design
Working in the style of different artists from particular countries, animal drawings using photos from the Twycross Zoo visit.
Music

Physical Education
Athletics, Invasion games.

WOW experiences this half term: 
  • Twycross Zoo Visit Tuesday 29th June. Please remember to bring the consent form along with the £11 as soon as possible. Thank you.
  • Visits to Aspley Library - parent helpers needed please. Please see the notice on the door for your child's dates and times.
  •  Sports Day for Years 1 & 2 will be on Friday 16th July starting at 9pm. It would be great to see as many parents as possible.
Useful things to bring in: Art work relating to the specific country for the class,  pictures of animals, as well as any other information about the World Cup and the specific countries being studied.
