Friends of Ambleside - The story so far...
The group was established September 2009 and we have our own constitution. Our purpose is to enhance the school environment for the children. In the past we have held events throughout the school year, such as the School Fayre at Christmas and in the summer, discos and biscuit sales.
We have also been involved in fundraising for the school choir. We recently held a bake sale at the school to help with there fundraising efforts. They are raising money for their trip to the O2 Arena, as they have entered the ‘Voice In a Million’ Competition on February 1st.
All committee members are dedicated to enhancing the lives of the pupils, as well as our local community. We have had input into local community events such as ‘Aspley’s Got Talent’ and the ‘Lighting of Aspley’.
We have regular meetings to discuss ideas and plan forthcoming events. As a committee we decide how we would like to spend the funds and work closely with Mrs Hannon, Mr Noble and Phase Managers.
So far we have raised enough funds to set up and maintain these events in school. We also paid towards a new football kit for the school football team, organised and funded all the Christmas parties in December 2010 and paid for the Christmas entertainer in the nursery.
We successfully applied for funding earlier in 2009 for lighting and sound equipment for the school, which has been used many times already for discos.
The PTA decided it would be nice to have a real Christmas tree, so have organised for one to be donated to the school every year. A relation of a pupil, at the school, is sponsoring the tree.

7th July 2012 - Summer Fair
We would appreciate your support by attending these events so please come along. All money raised will help fund future activities and events and will enhance the children’s experiences at the school.
Our long-term aim is to gain Charity Status, which will give us greater access to funding opportunities in the future.
