School Meals
The children have the option to stay for school dinners, bring a packed lunch or be collected by a parent/carer to go home for lunch.
School dinners are prepared on site using quality, wholesome produce and offer good value for at £1.55 per day (£7.75 per week). If you pay for your child’s meals, money should be brought to school in a sealed envelope with the child’s name and class number written on the front. It is essential that the exact amount of dinner money be brought by your child and this should be paid on a weekly basis, not on a daily basis. Alternatively, payment by cheque is acceptable – please make these payable to “Nottingham City Council”.
Dinner money should be brought to school on a Monday, or the first day back at school after a holiday or after a child’s absence, as the dinner money is collected from school by security services on the same day and cash is not kept on the school premises. If children wish to change from sandwiches to dinners or vice versa, at least one week’s notice should be given beforehand. It is not acceptable to change meal options from one day to the next.
Many children could be eligible for Free School Meals and often don’t take up this benefit. To find out if this entitlement could help you and your family, please contact: Pupil Benefits at the Guild Hall in Nottingham.
